MARAIS, an Australian boutique housing international luxury designers, first took residence in 2004 behind the Gog and Magog Gaunt Clock in the iconic Royal Arcade.
Like a hidden gem, the boutique’s unique Parisian apartment-style interior of white French panels and parquet flooring was a rarity, gracing many names including Givenchy, Balenciaga, Loewe, Rick Owens, Off White and Alexander McQueen.
By 2014, MARAIS was able to expand their emporium with a second, two-floor womenswear boutique at the Parisian end of Bourke Street.
Adorning the founder’s love for romantic fairy tales with a twist, the interior ambience followed a moody, dark castle with quartz crystal flooring, interlocking mirror ceilings, an unmissable crystal chandelier centrepiece and drawbridge-inspired hallway with knightly mannequins.
Both MARAIS boutiques, although very different in atmosphere and range, are focused on curating visionary seasonal collections and standing out as a multi-brand establishment rarely seen in the local luxury space.
The experience of the boutiques enable guests to enter, explore and be immersed in the DNA of MARAIS alongside the collections stocked.
